Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 4626) to amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to prohibit the Secretary of Energy from prescribing any new or amended energy conservation standard for a product that is not technologically feasible and economically justified, and for other purposes, and providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 4758) to repeal provisions of Public Law 117-169 relating to taxpayer subsidies for home electrification, and for other purposes.
This bill, HR1075, is about two other bills, HR4626 and HR4758. The main goal of HR4626 is to change a law called the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. Specifically, it wants to stop the Secretary of Energy from setting new energy-saving rules for products unless they are both possible with current technology and make sense from a money point of view. The goal of HR4758 is to remove parts of another law, Public Law 117-169, which deals with taxpayer money being used for home electrification projects.
