Concrete Pump Tax Fairness Act
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to impose a mileage-based user fee for mobile mounted concrete boom pumps in lieu of the tax on taxable fuels, and for other purposes.
This bill, known as the Concrete Pump Tax Fairness Act, aims to change how taxes are collected from businesses using mobile mounted concrete boom pumps. Currently, these businesses pay taxes on the fuel they use. The proposed change would instead require them to pay a fee based on how many miles they drive these pumps. This fee would replace the existing tax on taxable fuels.
This bill would primarily affect businesses that use mobile mounted concrete boom pumps, like construction companies. Instead of paying fuel taxes, they would pay a fee based on mileage. This could change how much they pay in taxes and potentially affect their costs and pricing.
As of June 11, 2026, the bill has just been introduced and referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means. This means it is in the early stages of the legislative process. No further action has been taken yet, and it will need to be reviewed, debated, and voted on by the committee and the full House before it can move forward.
