Domenic and Ed’s Law
To provide for the discharge of parent borrower liability if a student on whose behalf a parent has received certain student loans becomes disabled.
HB8518, also known as Domenic and Ed’s Law, aims to release parents from their student loan obligations if their child, for whom they took out the loans, becomes disabled. If the student can't repay the loans due to their disability, the bill would allow the parent borrowers to be discharged from their liability.
