Reserve Forces Travel Fairness Act
To amend title 37, United States Code, to reimburse a member of the uniformed services for costs incurred to rent a motor vehicle for travel relating to a period of reserve component inactive-duty training, or of Ready Reserve muster duty, performed more than 150 miles from the member's permanent residence.
The Reserve Forces Travel Fairness Act, or HB7593, aims to provide fair travel reimbursement for members of the uniformed services. Specifically, it proposes to reimburse members for vehicle rental costs when they travel for reserve duty more than 150 miles away from their permanent residence. This bill targets members participating in reserve component inactive-duty training or Ready Reserve muster duty.
This legislation would directly benefit members of the armed forces who need to travel long distances for reserve duty. By reimbursing their vehicle rental expenses, it aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with such travel.
